I'm Lucas, 31yo pixel artist and amateur developer from Brazil creating amazing experiences... After several successful and failed projects, I decided that I wanted to start documenting my projects.
I'm currently working on a platformer adventure game named Froggomancer 🐸... I was working on another project (Deckdangers) but due to lack of programming skills😅, I had to take a step back and try something that is under my current capabilities... HOWEVER, I plan to get back on this project when I reach enough knowledge to program myself.
So what is Froggomancer ? it's a platformer adventure game where you play as a toadkin that was dropped into a world filled with monsters and tales where it's objective is simple...
find and rescue the lost toadprincess (quite unique isn't?)😁
I'm also sharing it's process on my youtube channel above and here as a devlog post, so when you got time, don't hesitate checking it's page and leave a comment if possible, I would appreciate a lot 😊
Okay so now that you came this far, let me present you our protagonist Jerry, a toadkin that came from... well who knows where he came from? but well, we know he has his frog duties eating wasps and running trough unnecessary dialogs so let's get straight into it...
♦ GAME SPECS
• Game Engine: Construct 2 (the engine for dumbelopers ^^'')
• Project Length: 2 Months (or I hope so haha)
• Platform Release: Itch.io & Steam
• Pricing: 2 dollars (well, I need to eat too)
• Game Scale: 16x (tiny but niecy)
• Our team: me and chatgpt 🤣
Since my plan it's to complete a game myself I tought... Why not use creatures I did in the past? YEAAH that's perfect, so now I don't need to spend all my youthful creating monsters that will mostly die with a single hit since they'r the initial ones... So I present you The Golem, The Slime, The Mushroom and The Specter. ( more creatures are coming in future updates)
When it comes to level design I thought.. "well it can't be too difficult, it's just creating a phase here and there but then I discovered I also suck in leveldesign🤣 so I said you know what? Fuck that shit, imma gonna just duplicate tiles here and there, put some mobs and rewards and let's see what happens 😁 if it's gonna look good? well, we'll only knows it when I release the game...
Not less important, I also want to share that i'm creating my first totally FREE 32x Stoneshard inspired assetpack for gamedevelopers that I plan releasing the next month... The pack will include a wide variety of tiles, biomes, buildings, creatures, npcs and everything you need to shape that dreamproject you've always wanted but never had tons of money to invest.
You can check the current progress here on my website and upcoming projects, thank you!
Stay tunned traveller
Best Regards 😺
